Assalamu aleikum waramatulahi wabarakatuhu Dear Readers!
Welcome to this month's book club edition.
Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club Series) -- Book 3
Summary: Alexis Carlisle and her cat café, ToeBeans, have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of a celebrity chef’s sexual harassment. When a new customer approaches to confide in her, the last thing Alexis expects is for the woman to claim they’re sisters. Unsure what to do, Alexis turns to the only man she trusts—her best friend, Noah Logan.
Computer genius Noah left his rebellious teenage hacker past behind to become a computer security expert. Now he only uses his old skills for the right cause. But Noah’s got a secret: He’s madly in love with Alexis. When she asks for his help, he wonders if the timing will ever be right to confess his crush.
Noah’s pals in The Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved “manuals” to help him go from bud to boyfriend. But he must decide if telling the truth is worth risking the best friendship he’s ever had.
Thoughts: The book delves in the part, USA's defense contractors played on the war the US is fighting in the Middle East. This was an eye-opener. Many were just motivated by greed and this caused the death of many of their compatriots. Crazy Stupid Bromance also touched on grief, missing parents, familial relationships, friendships and support groups, cancer, single parenthood, and kidney failure. As you can see, romance novels are more than just steamy tidbits. We liked it.

The Duke and I -- A Brigerton Novel
Summay: Can there be any greater challenge to London's Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke?—Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1813
By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister—the lovely and almost-on-the-shelf—Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth—it's all an elaborate ruse to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.
But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a sham. Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her . . . but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke . . . for real! And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love.
Thoughts: We look forward to read the books as the Netflix series is quite alluring...
